Whitewood Industries uses 4 forms of shipping. Please read each so that you will know what form of shipping best fits your needs. You can also use the questions below to determine if there will be any issues with your current delivery location. As our customer you are allowed to pick up directly from our warehouse, but you cannot have your customer pickup merchandise. If you want to arrange your freight you may do so, as long as the company is an actual freight or moving company.

Small Parcel - We ship small parcel to a commercial or residential location. Many items are not able to ship this method due to their size and weight. Whitewood Industries can ship on your FedEx or UPS account.

Common Carrier (Furniture Haulers) - These carriers will only deliver to a Commercial location. They only load and unload furniture by hand, which allows them to safely move the product to prevent damages from other products and machines. They have set rates to each zip code that they service. Whitewood Industries can provide you with their rates upon request. Keep in mind, they consolidate your products with other orders/products in your area before delivery which can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks. However, most deliveries do average 2 weeks depending on the carrier and your location.

LTL Carrier - This is a standard freight carrier that will deliver to your location on a skid. They will deliver to most addresses (both Commercial and Residential.) Their pricing can be higher due to quick delivery times with most charging by the skid size, weight, and Federal Freight Class. They will have upcharges for most services they provide like Residential/Limited access fees, liftgate fees, appointment charges, redelivery (if you miss your delivery date/time) storage fees, and inside delivery fees. They delivery most shipments in 2-7 business days.

Dedicated Truck - If you have an order that is large enough to be shipped on a designated truck, we can generate a quote and have the product loaded on a box truck, or standard 53 foot trailer, that will leave our warehouses and deliver directly to you - only stopping for fuel and abiding by Federal Regulated Driving Times.

All John Thomas DESIGN pricing is FOB Thomasville, NC. You are responsible for arranging your preferred freight service depending on your specific delivery needs. Most freight carriers can ship directly to any commercial shipping address that can accommodate a 53’ trailer. If your shipping address cannot accommodate a 53’ trailer or you need to ship to a residential address, you will need to arrange a third-party provider or by developing a relationship with a receiving warehouse. John Thomas Furniture can recommend these potential freight services based on your location. Contact your local sales/service representative for further information.

Upon receiving of shipments all cartons should be inspected for visible damage upon delivery to the receiving warehouse, with written notification of such on the signed bill of lading. Claims for visible or concealed freight damage should be reported to the freight service claims department immediately. It is recommended that you and/or your receiver inspect all products during this time frame to ensure that any concealed damage due to handling will be covered.

Any costs associated with the normal "deluxing" of the product will be the responsibility of the participant. This will include assembly, cleaning, dusting and polishing, attaching or adjusting hardware and leveling the product. It is recommended that "deluxing" activities be completed prior to delivery to your consumer or end user.

John Thomas Furniture warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship to the original purchaser for a period of one year from the date of the original purchase. Claims that fall beyond the warranty period will only be reviewed for known issues when submitted with a photograph of the production label. Defective product claims, which are not freight related, covered under limited warranty will be addressed in the following manner: John Thomas Furniture will determine if the product can be repaired and will provide parts at no cost to the participant. John Thomas Furniture may offer the participant an allowance credit to keep and use or re-sell the product "as is".
